Rescue Plan from Egypt
“I am the LORD your God, who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.” — Exodus 20:2
There was a time in my life when I truly believed I would never escape the place I was in — not just physically, but mentally and spiritually too. Fear had become so normal to me that I didn’t even recognize it as bondage anymore. Control felt normal. Oppression felt normal. Even silence felt normal.
Looking back now, I realize I was living in my own Egypt.
When I gave my life to Jesus, something inside me changed almost immediately. I couldn’t fully explain it then, but deep down I knew I no longer belonged where I was. The strange thing was, I didn’t know where God was taking me either. I just knew I couldn’t stay the same.
I used to think freedom meant simply leaving one place and going somewhere else, but God showed me it was much deeper than that. He was calling me into His will. And honestly, where He was, that’s where I wanted to be.
That journey truly began when I met my husband. He was willing to put everything on the line and stand before the enemy for me. Before that, I had felt trapped for so long.
My father’s heart was consumed with control. Manipulation, fear, spiritual warfare, and abuse became part of everyday life. It felt suffocating. I remember believing India was a place I would only leave through death. That’s how impossible freedom felt to me.
What made it even harder was that my family claimed Christianity. They spoke about God, yet there was no truth, love, or Spirit in what I experienced. As I got closer to Jesus, the darkness around me became clearer and clearer. Things I once thought were normal suddenly looked completely wrong.
But even in all of that, God never left me.
That is the part that moves me the most when I look back. I didn’t go searching for Him first. I was lost, fearful, deceived, and wounded. Yet somehow, He was always there anyway.
He was there when I felt rejected before I even understood rejection. He was there when I felt unwanted simply because I was born a girl. He was there during the nights I cried alone. He was there when prayers were mocked and interrupted. He was there when nighttime became the only peaceful moment I had to seek Him.
For so long, I believed my life had been abandoned by God.
Now I realize my Egypt wasn’t Egypt because God wasn’t there. It was Egypt because I didn’t know He was there.
Everything came to a turning point in May 2023 when I left my parents’ house and traveled to Mumbai to fast and seek God. I was only supposed to stay for a week, but during that time my body became extremely weak, and I began experiencing torment in my dreams. It honestly felt like darkness itself was fighting against me leaving.
Then the day of my flight came, and I still remember my mother looking at me and saying, “Don’t go.”
For a brief moment, I almost listened.
But deep inside, I knew if I stayed, I would die spiritually, emotionally, and maybe even physically too.
When I arrived at the hotel, things became even more intense. Less than 24 hours later, I couldn’t stop throwing up. I felt exhausted and spiritually attacked while fasting and praying. It felt like a battle was happening around me that I couldn’t fully see.
And then suddenly, after all the torment, peace came.
One night during the fast, I had an angelic encounter and received a crown and scarf in the spirit before falling asleep. When I woke up, something had changed. It felt like chains had broken — as if Heaven had already declared my freedom before I could even see it naturally.
But the enemy still tried one last time.
I had to board my flight from New Delhi, the very place where I was born. My flights began getting canceled one after another. I stood devastated in the airport after being told I would only be placed on standby. I remember calling my husband crying because I felt completely defeated.
Then something unexpected happened.
After I hung up the phone, I noticed a girl nearby and felt the Lord leading me to speak with her. While I was talking with her, God was already moving behind the scenes.
Within thirty minutes, I was handed a completely free first-class ticket to New York.
Even now, writing that feels unreal to me.
If someone had told me years ago that I would give my life to Jesus, leave my country, marry the love of my life, and publicly testify about God’s goodness, I would have laughed because I had absolutely no hope that kind of life could ever belong to me.
But on August 7, 2023, God brought me out of Egypt.
Not just physically. Completely.
He didn’t just open a door and leave me to walk through it alone. He pulled me out, walked beside me, protected me, and brought me into freedom step by step.
And even after bringing me here, He never let go of me. Instead, He became more and more my Father — healing me, teaching me, pruning me, and forming me into His image.
That is why I can say with confidence that no matter how impossible your Egypt feels, God is still able to bring you out of it.
And when He does, you realize He was beside you the entire time.
