A Blueprint for Christian Content Creators

So, you hear God calling you to create content for Him, but you are scared of being that “corny” Christian? Or maybe you hear the Lord calling you to showcase Him on your platforms, but Christianity does not fit into your niche? Well, you chose the right article to read—because that was me two years ago. I went from creating content that glorified me to proclaiming and capturing the faithfulness of God.

How, you might ask? By laying my heart on an altar, accepting a paradigm shift, and partnering with the Holy Spirit. This is the fundamental pattern—the blueprint of my life, and I use this same pattern to impact thousands of believers online. So here is the blueprint I wish I had in the summer of 2023, when the Lord called me into online ministry.

But before I give you the details of my blueprint for creating ‘Christian content,’ I want to take you on the journey that birthed my philosophy.

“Use your platform for Me” was what I heard as I contemplated deleting my YouTube channel, Jo’s World. My channel was known for a series of vlogs that followed my “Day in the Life” as a pre-medical student at Duke University. These videos landed me an article in The Duke Chronicle, mentions in prospective freshmen’s personal statements, and eventually monetization.

The commencement of my alumni status in the spring of 2023 marked the bittersweet end of my era of creating college lifestyle content. Leaving Duke’s campus with both joy and grief in my heart, I was unknowingly being prepared for an encounter that would change my life forever.

Not long after graduation, I dedicated my life to Christ while reading the story of Abraham and Isaac. I remember my tears hitting the pages of Genesis as I bore the burden on Abraham’s heart—to sacrifice the promise of his prophecy, his only son. In that moment, I accepted Jesus into my heart and received the heart of God, though I was ignorant of the depth of that encounter. In hindsight, I was simultaneously saved as a sinner and set apart as a prophet to the nations.

That summer, I moved to Boston to begin working. In other words, the Holy Spirit dragged me into my wilderness season. Alone in a new city and isolated by conviction, I filled my days with the gym, work, and Bible study. As I studied how the Lord spoke to the prophets and examined the ministry of Jesus, I began to hear His audible voice.

That was when God instructed me to repurpose my YouTube channel. At the time, I was not aware of anyone who had successfully merged the influencer world with the Kingdom of God. I had no blueprint to follow. So, consistent with my history of being “the first,” I created my own domain within the social media sphere—a world where I could remain authentically myself while spreading the knowledge of the glory of God.

Jo’s World had once been a private Snapchat story and the name of my YouTube channel. But after encountering the Lord through a series of prophetic visions, my world was reframed and took on a new form. I went from vlogging my college experiences to teaching and breaking down Scripture the Lord placed on my heart.

The Holy Spirit instructed me to share my revelations in podcast format and to “march boldly” into my new calling. This marked the birth of the Faith & Favor podcast, which swiftly became Faith & Favor Ministries when I began leading corporate fasts paired with the teachings. Unbeknownst to me, this was the establishment of my first ministry—one that would go on to reach 38 countries and lead hundreds of souls to Christ within its first two years.

To many of my former classmates and friends, my online transformation was jarring and even bizarre. But the Lord had already told me, “Do not be afraid of them or terrified by them,” (Ezekiel 3:11). So, I placed the fear of man on the altar of ministry, set my mind on things above, and allowed the Spirit of prophecy to minister through me.

This was the first visible expression of the blueprint shaping my new life in Christ. I laid down self-ambition and the fears that once ruled my heart in exchange for the mind of Christ and the mantle of prophecy.

A year and a half into leading Faith & Favor Ministries, I received another instruction: “Post on your personal Instagram and TikTok pages for 22 consecutive days.” This coincided with leading our annual end-of-year 22-Day Ascension & Praise Fast.

At first, I was hesitant—still recovering from the backlash I had received from prophetic words shared online. After witnessing how vicious the internet can be, I no longer desired to share my personal life with strangers. I felt that the more I shared, the more people twisted my words and sent them back as arrows against me.

That was when the Lord said, “You are misunderstood because you have misrepresented yourself. The fire I placed you in was the refinement you needed for your personal rebrand.”

Thus, the first Ascension & Praise Fast became a memorial for my ministry and marked the genesis of my Christian lifestyle content journey on Instagram and TikTok. As I returned to lifestyle content, I laid down my fear of visibility, set my mind to “seek first the Kingdom,” and partnered with the Spirit of the Creator. The 22 seeds, or posts that were planted in November 2024, have now become a fruitful field.  

The content I create today exists to guide people into lives fully surrendered to Jesus—expressed through their professions, passions, and talents. Through storytelling and visual media, I have cultivated a community of believers who follow me as I follow Christ.

As I continue to build my personal brand and second ministry, Believers Take Dominion, my Father reminds me that my multifaceted nature transcends traditional ministry. I was created, called, and chosen for more—for such a time as this. The Spirit of the Lord empowers me as a creative, scientist, athlete, entrepreneur, and model, all for His glory.

My prayer is that the Holy Spirit would overshadow my life so that people would not see me, but Jesus, high and exalted. I thank God for pulling me out of a cave of fearful obscurity and placing me on higher ground. Now I stand confident, not only as a prophetess but as a woman of many talents, called to take dominion across multiple spheres of influence.

• Meet your Father at the altar, willing to sacrifice whatever He asks.

• Set your mind on the Kingdom of God and things above.

• And lastly, collaborate with the Holy Spirit to create—just as the Lord did in the beginning.
